Website Development (one or multiple page)
Help choose an open source web design for your website. We can change colors, fonts, photographs, and menu items to make your site look unique. You will be responsible for writing the textual content and giving us any photographs.

Basic Internet Marketing
Set up basic local listings for your business with the four major search engines: google.com, yahoo.com, msn.com and altavista.com. Register your business with other local services such as denver.com. These basic listings include data such as business name, business e-mail, location with maps, website address, photo, and a coupon. Also, we will set up a google sitemap, so your website is google friendly and the search engine will have access to your site layout.
Enhanced Internet Marketing
If you wish to enhance your business listing, we can set up a daily marketing budget and explain your options for enhanced business advertising. Google AdWords is a great program for working with an advertising budget.
Traffic Reports
Open a Google account to analyze traffic patterns to your website. Google analytics keeps many statistics about your traffic including basic visitor information and the way users are finding your website.
Photo Galleries
A photo gallery is a great way to organize and display your photographs.
Affiliate Links
Most affiliate links require you to recommend a product or set of products. Then, if someone clicks a link to the product on your site, you will get a referral percentage of the the sale. This site uses referral icons and links in the Design Section. For an example of an affiliate link, notice the webfaction.com link. For an example of an affiliate icon, notice the iStockphoto and Google AdSense icons.
Context Ads
Google AdSense is a program in which you can display ads from Google that are related to the content of your website. Each time a visitor to your site clicks a Google AdSense ad, your account will be credited with money. When your Google AdSense account reaches $100 worth of visitor clicks, you will receive a $100 check in the mail. An example of context ads can be seen at the end of the weblog entries at ardith.org.
Weblog (Blog)
Blogs are free form dated journal entries you may add to your website. Most blog software organizes blog entries into date and subject categories. Visitors to your site may comment on your Blog entries. As a blog owner, you will need to moderate comments to avoid displaying bogus comments on your site. Website Publishing
Website Publishing is designed for the customer who doesn't have the time to interface with an Internet hosting company and to maintain their own website. In order to get your website visible to others on the Internet, you will need Website Publishing. This is a yearly cost which includes registering a domain, hosting your website, configuring domain e-mail addresses, and supporting your website. Either party may terminate the ongoing Slate Blue Web Website Publishing agreement with 30 days' notice. If that happens, you will be refunded for the remainder of the year, and we will help you migrate to another Internet hosting company.
Register a Domain
Reserve a domain name for your website once a year. This name must be unique for the entire Internet. Some users may want to access your site by typing the website address. The goal for a domain name is to choose a name that is short, easy to type, easy to remember, and relevant to you. If you decide to cancel Slate Blue Web Publishing, ownership of the domain will be transfered to you.
Hosting your Website
Hosting includes all services required to keep your website running. We will choose your hosting arrangement based on the system requirements for your site.
E-mail for your Domain
Configure up to five business e-mail addresses using your domain. Please ask if you require more than five e-mail addresses. Domain e-mail addresses look professional by using your domain name. For this service, you will need to use Gmail. Gmail is the google mail tool. Gmail has a great user interface, spam filtering, and large amounts of storage. We will provide tutoring on using Gmail if needed.
Supporting your Website
If you choose Slate Blue Website Publishing we will provide monthly support. When requested, we provide an hour of support monthly including website programming, photo uploads, traffic analysis, and tutoring.
Web Application Programming
Using the Ruby on Rails Web application framework, we can write you a custom web application. Ruby on Rails is especially good at quick database applications. A great resource for learning about Ruby on Rails is railsforall.org.
